Public Holidays

India is a society of multiculture and multireligion. Different parts of India celebrate holidays and festivals having various faiths and special interest groups. The table shows the standard holiday list with three national holidays: Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanti. Abreast to it, depending on the prevailing religion and linguistic demographics, many states have local festival's holiday.
